Jorge Loweree
Jorge Loweree is the Managing Director of Programs and Strategy at the American Immigration Council. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for the Council’s legal, policy, state and local, and research teams, as well as the Immigration Justice Campaign. Jorge brings extensive policy, advocacy, legislative, and coalition-building experience to the Council, having previously served as the Council’s policy director and spent ten years in a variety of positions with the U.S. House of Representatives.
Earlier in his career, Jorge provided direct legal representation to immigrants impacted by immigration enforcement and detention in Colorado. He spent his youth in Juárez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, and is a fluent Spanish speaker. Jorge holds a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Saint Mary's University.
