The American Immigration Council is looking for second or third-year law students to join the legal department as interns for the summer of 2017. Interns must be dynamic self-starters with strong research and writing skills and a commitment to the Council’s mission. Intern projects may include: monitoring and analyzing immigration decisions; legal research and memo writing; and drafting practice advisories, pleadings and briefs.
The Exchange Visitor Program Associate is responsible for vetting and approving sponsorship applications to ensure exchange visitors and host organizations comply with the State Department regulations and the Council’s internal policies.
The Council has an immediate opening for an Advocacy Coordinator for the Dilley Pro Bono Project. The Advocacy Coordinator will play a leading role in our on the ground operations and the management of volunteers assisting mothers and children detained in Dilley, Texas.
The Council is seeking a consultant who will support staff and volunteers assisting asylum-seeking women and children detained in Dilley, Texas and assist in compilation of data to end family detention.
The Project Manager will work with AIRP leadership, the Justice Campaign Manager and other legal, education, and pro bono staff at AILA and the Council to initiate and implement expanded pro bono efforts.
