American Immigration Council Exchange Visitor Alumni
At its best and most basic premise, educational and cultural exchange experiences strengthen ties and lay the groundwork for future international collaboration.
We encourage alumni to remain in touch and continue sharing your experiences in the U.S. as you move forward in your careers and your transnational lives.
A reminder about repeat participation: Interns may return for additional internship opportunities, provided you remain eligible as a current student or recent graduate. Trainees need to reside outside the U.S. for at least 24 months from the end of the previous internship or training exchange program and between successive J-1 training programs.
Our exchange visitors remain a part of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) International Exchange Alumni long after moving on to pursue other endeavors abroad. ECA also maintains a clearinghouse of networking, subscription journals, and professional development resources for all International Exchange Alumni. We encourage you to register as a former program participant here to keep the benefits of your experience going long after you return home!
