July 16, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC, July 16, 2024—The American Immigration Council announced today that Anjulee Alvares-Cinque will serve as the organization’s new Chief Marketing Officer. She brings over two decades of experience in building marketing, communication, and partnership strategies to advance organizational growth.

Most recently, in her previous roles at UNICEF USA and Save the Children, Alvares-Cinque directed media relations, social media, and communications strategies. Prior to working in the non-profit sector, Alvares-Cinque held senior leadership roles in the entertainment industry, including positions at The Weinstein Company and Fox Searchlight Pictures. She ran national publicity and awards campaigns for Academy Award nominated films including Philomena, The Imitation Game and Carol.

“I’m thrilled to join the American Immigration Council at this pivotal moment, as we work to create an immigration system that is grounded in compassion and treats people with dignity and respect,” said Alvares-Cinque.

“There is no one better suited to help lead the Council’s communications and marketing efforts. Anjulee’s ability and experience to execute successful campaigns will be a major asset in advancing the Council’s mission to create a more fair and just immigration system,” said Jeremy Robbins, executive director of the American Immigration Council.

Alvares-Cinque holds a B.S. in Communication Studies from New York University.

 About the American Immigration Council

The American Immigration Council works to strengthen America by shaping how America thinks about and acts towards immigrants and immigration and by working toward a more fair and just immigration system that opens its doors to those in need of protection and unleashes the energy and skills that immigrants bring. The Council brings together problem solvers and employs four coordinated approaches to advance change—litigation, research, legislative and administrative advocacy, and communications. In January 2022, the Council and New American Economy merged to combine a broad suite of advocacy tools to better expand and protect the rights of immigrants, more fully ensure immigrants’ ability to succeed economically, and help make the communities they settle in more welcoming.
