Comment on CBP Proposed Rule To Drastically Expand the Use of Facial Recognition Technology

The American Immigration Council submitted a comment in opposition to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Proposed Rule on the "Collection of Biometric Data from Aliens Upon Entry to and Departure from the United States". The Proposed Rule would drastically expand the use of unproven facial recognition technology at ports of entry throughout the United States. The comment explains how the changes are contrary to current law and describes the significant privacy implications of these proposed changes for citizens and non-citizens alike.
